Is Poor Time Management Robbing You Of Your Dreams?

Is poor time management preventing you from having the business and life you’ve always dreamed of?

If so then please be assured you are not alone.  In fact questions based on improving time management are amongst the most frequent I receive from Party Planners from around the world.

The question is simply:

How do I become more effective at managing my time?

The answer: stop trying to manage time!

Now this may seem like a rather strange response, but if you think about it, we have no ability to manage time and whether you like it or not time passes at exactly the same pace each and every day.

So if we have no ability to manage time – it makes no sense to try and improve our time management.  It’s a completely fruitless exercise.

Instead of focusing on “time management”, we need to shift our focus to “self management” if we are to become more productive with our time.

Here’s my three simple steps to becoming more productive with your time.

So I’m curious:-

Are you currently aware of how you spend your time each day?

Would you be more mindful of how you spent it if you’re credit card was charged every morning for your daily time allocation?

We’d love to hear your comments, so please let us know what you think, directly below this video.

Until next time – happy partying!

  1. Hi Lyndsey

Very good tips on managing myself. Sometimes I’m better at it than others. Definitely worth sitting down this evening to work my commitments out and make the most of the ‘spare’ time I can utilise for follow ups, phone calls etc. I’m looking forward to continuing my journey with you over the coming weeks with Party Plan Academy.

  2. Awesome tips on how to manage ourselves in the time we have. There are days I have where I seem to be so productive and others not so much. I’ve found that my productive days involve having a plan on ensuring every half an hour of the day has purpose (of the hours I have allocated to work my business)… my unproductive days are usually spend with out having a plan. Thanks for the tips!
